Really starting to cruise around now. They're just amazing! Their pretty white feet will soon be gray cuz we'll have to use a lot of newspaper from now on.
03/26/2021 Babies will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. I got some videos I thought I'd share. You'll have to bear with me cuz I was forced, by the Wisconsin Dept of Revenue, to e-file a couple corporate returns. Which in turn caused me to have to purchase a business tax program, which in turn caused me to have to upgrade my Windows 7, which I loved, to Windows 10, which I hate, and now all my programs are screwed up. Including this site builder. I can no longer build from a click on my desk top. I have to go into their site and build from there. Everything is different. I HATE CHANGE. Well, let's see if these videos will fly. Wish me luck!

I let the babies out of the whelping box so I could clean it with a little less torment. They did pretty well. I should have cleaned first and played after cuz it got pretty loud and I was throwing down newspaper as fast as I could. They were fine while I was sitting out there with them but then everybody started complaining!

I think I'm leaning towards Eric. I'm about 90% sure. Gimme' another week... Really hard decision! Pretty sure Laurie is going with Flynn. That leaves Kris, PC and Maui.

Of the three remaining boys, PC probably has the most confidence. Kris likes to hang with the crowd and Maui is going to be a gentle giant. Still a lot more studying to do though.
Elsa is still the darkest and Pun is still the lightest.

04/02/2021 Babies will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. That's hard to believe. This is the cutest stage ever. They're all 6 pounds and over now and #2 de-worming tomorrow. Also, they're free from the whelping box and have the whole puppy room to explore.

Their mama spends her days out in her kennel now, she needs the break, but I bring her in at night. At this age mama mostly stands to feed them.

I gave them puppy chow dry to see how they'd handle it. They are starting to get teeth now. They did pretty well but I think I'll make slop for a few more days. Make sure everybody gets full.
Funny how some of them have their little tongues sticking out. Just like their daddy. You can see in his baby pictures. Sure miss that guy!
A couple of them, like Maui here, will plop down and sleep wherever they happen to be at the time. PC is another guy who seems very confident at this stage.

04/04/2021 Babies were 4 weeks old yesterday. They got their second de-worming and I've seen no sign of nasty worms. Happy healthy babies!

Above, pretty funny. I have a fan going in the puppy room cuz it was getting kinda' warm in there and the kids were complaining. That's Maui underneath the newspaper. Fan blew it on top of him and he didn't care. Not much bothers that guy.

It's such a beautiful day I tried to coax the babies out on to the deck. I really didn't expect anybody to venture out but Eric/Ari Two came out and crawled into my lap. Then he cruised around a little. Everybody else backed away from the door and watched. :) It's a big scary world and we're not ready for that just yet.

04/06/2021 Babies are 4 1/2 weeks old! They're learning all kinds of new stuff. And, they don't like the heat. There has been no complaining until the last couple days. I've got ice cubes in their water dish and a fan on high.

They're really getting BIG! Everybody likes playing outside now except maybe Prince Kristoff. "Kris" likes to watch from the doorway. I've been leaving the door propped open the last few days. No flies yet :) We have found a tick on one of the babies. Thanks to Kiana! (Kiana and Sam like Kris I think.) Anyway, Mama Yo must have brought in the tick from one of our walks. Can't believe they're out already. I don't wanna' treat YoYo while she's still nursing sooooooo...

They're quite well behaved as puppies go. I hardly hear a peep out of them. They're getting a ton of socializing. Reminds me, THANK YOU Shaye and Remy for the nice visit and for helping me socialize the babies. Elsa will be home soon! You were very good girls and you're welcome any time!
They know the sound of the 1/2 door that leads into the puppy room. The hook and eye latches clang and they come running.
Pun is still the smallest and the sassiest. I think she's very smart. All are pretty confident and eager to chew on gamma'. Maui and Elsa seem the most independent. They'll do okay if they have to be left home alone.
Yes, that's a kitty litter box but it's clean. I was using it to hold weatherizing stuff. Like Thompson's Weatherseal or whatever it is. :) Holds more than those paint trays.

04/15/2021 Babies will be SIX WEEKS in a couple days. This gang is just loaded with personality. From little Pun, who is the smallest and the smartest to the sassy, cocky boys. They all love the deck except for maybe Kris and he's figuring it out. They even got to play in a little snow the other day. I couldn't get them to come back in the house!

Gotta' take Maui to the vet for a health check so he can travel to Nevada. Taking Eric/Ari in at the same time for his first shot. Should I see if we can get a group discount and take everybody? Who's still going to be here on April 30th or May 1st?

Today, at Menards, I spotted Purina One Large Breed Puppy Formula. New? Didn't even look at the ingredients but I trust Purina and it says "Helps support growing joints & vision and brain development".
Thought I'd see if they like it. I'm all for variety and getting their tummies used to different stuff. I'll skip the french fries and pizza this litter. :)

04/17/2021 Babies are SIX WEEKS old!! They were just de-wormed for the third time. PC and Maui have runny eyes so I took them to the vet. Actually Maui and Eric/Ari just rode along for moral support and travel practice. Maui's eyes didn't start watering until after I had made the appointment but I figured whatever PC has Maui does too. PC was diagnosed with entropion. That's where the eyelids turn in and cause irritation. We're going for a second opinion on Monday. Main reason for the second opinion is the vet who diagnosed PC doesn't do the procedure that may be needed. They tack the eyelids to keep them from rubbing on the eyes and PRAY! Pray that the boys grow out of it. I've been doing what they call "rolling" the eyelids so maybe by Monday we won't have a problem. Otherwise we'll have them tack the boys and if they don't grow out of it they'll need surgery to fix it permanently. Again, PRAY!!! It's quite common in the wrinkley faced breeds but also Akitas cuz of all the loose skin they haven't grown into yet.
