Babies right on schedule!

You can see MeMe and Ari's pedigrees and baby pictures and all of their relatives by clicking on the Home link above.
Added on to MeMe's kennel
I think she's happy with it.
Ari at about 15 months helping his mama???
I was TRYING to hold up the panels by myself and he'd jump up on um' to say hi. Big dope! hehehe
Standing in his water bucket. The OTHER bucket is for cooling off. But, whatever makes him happy is okay by me. :)
Can't believe my pretty girl will be three at the end of this month! More pictures of all the big kids on their web pages. We'll save this space for PUPPIES!!! Hurry up about it MeMe !!!!
I try to take them for a walk at least 3-4 times a week and soon we'll get to go to the river. Water is still too high.
Daddy Ari at about 15 1/2 months.
Oct. 27, 2019 FINALLY!!! We're going to have babies!!!!
Daddy at about 22 months.
Their FIRST LITTER! BORN Dec. 28, 2019!
This little furry human being will go live with Mark and Patty. They used to be owned by Mufasa/Mufasa.
And, this little gal is going to live with Scott and Keri. Who were owned by Ruppert/Romo. Romo has gone to Rainbow's Bridge. He was almost 13. You will be missed my handsome boy!
DOLLY/ASPEN!
Going to wait and see how Ahmee babies grow up and then choose from a future litter.
This little furry human being will go live with Troy and Kim down with all the Bear fans. GO BEARS! REBA/SAKIRA!
Here's Mom and Dad complete with their blaze orange for huntin' season!
We've got about a month 'til PUPPIES!!! 90% sure!
Mama with one week to go!!!
They're FINALLY here!!! We've waited a really long time!! No nicknames yet. I'm running out to ideas.
Born Dec. 28th, 2019. Six girls and three boys.
Ahmee was acting anxious and she was "nesting" they call it. Ripping the sheets for whelping into a pile of confetti. She's one of the smartest Akitas I've had but her mothering skills could use some work. Like I should talk. :) Pretty sure she thought she was just here to drop off the little monsters. Or she's like, "THOSE came out of ...?" She's getting the hang of it I think. At one point she actually got up and left. Ummmm.. I joined her in the puppy room on Friday night about 6. Tablet, cigs, pop, front row seat... About that seat! I'm bringing a lounger in next time. Let the pups chew it to hell. My ass and neck or so sore from sitting on the floor and looking down at that tablet. Been doing it for decades but not any more... And, up and down and up and down. I've had too many bad experiences with birthing/whelping pups to not be right there. I've lost a baby in the time it took me to throw a peanut butter and jellly sandwich together. Almost did again last night. Only I'm big time now, I ordered a pizza. :) She didn't have the first pup until Saturday afternoon! Two nights no sleep! The first to arrive was a big girl. Just her head. The sac was off and she was breathing but not very well. If she grows up with a longer than normal neck it won't be cuz long necks run in our lines. :) By the time I got her out I thought she was dead. A little puppy CPR and we were rollin'. Took several years offa' my life but... This is Ahmee's first litter so some problems are expected. Puppy number two. I heard a thud. Standing position to floor. He's okay. They're kinda' rubbery on purpose. Every couple hours another... Mama was getting tired and one of the last pups came out and she just laid there. Never even lifted her head I don't think. Had I not been in that room I know at least the first 3-4 would have parished in their little carrying bags. The last one, or who I thought was the last one, is pretty lucky to be alive too. I made one of my zillion trips into the whelping box to count heads and found a baby, still in the sac, right behind their mama. Took me a while to get her going but we're good! She was born some time after midnight on Saturday night/Sunday morning. I've lost the most pups to their mothers laying on them and smothering them. If I can get to them in time I can revive them. Even the dead ones. Must have been around 9 this morning I went in again to do another head check and she was licking a puppy who looked limp. Yup, dead puppy. I grabbed her and started CPR. I was just in there! I mean it. I try to do every 15 minutes or as close as possible. If they've been dead too long... Chances are they don't get squished the minute I leave so this approach has been working for years. I hate it for obvious reasons but it's a lot better than burying babies. I thought Ahmee squished her but while I was pacing and breathing into her little face I did the ol' head count and there were still eight pups. So I think I just spent almost an hour trying to revive a stillborn puppy. That wasn't going to work. She must have been stuck... Well, that's sad but out of our hands. This is why I spend so much time in the puppy room. And still I lose them. But, lookie what I have!
Our little adventure and for any of you who think raising puppies is free money. :) I've got news! Just scroll past if it suits you. I'm a lonely old lady now and this is what we do. :)
Here we go again. I can't tell which pup that is without seeing his face. One of the pinto boys has white on his face and one only has a tiny dot on is forehead. Their pinto sister is a she so that will help. :)
I think that white collar goes all the way around. That's the first born girl. I gotta' come up with some nicknames we haven't already used.
I thought I saw brown and not just black. I asked Ahmee's breeder where the pinto came from. Ahmee's grandpa. She sent me a couple pictures. Please see below.
< That's Riggs. He's Ahmee and YoYo's daddy. That's probably what the darker black pups will look like.
Ahmee's Mom's Dad. Where the pinto came from I guess.
She about stressed me out before the game even started. She's got white toes in the back and a small white tip on her tail. She's got that whole white collar. Usually they only run from one way or the other. Her right front leg is almost all white while only her toes on the other are white.
Guess you can tell I was tired. I Copy and paste so I don't have to resize the text all the time and I forgot to do this one. Said the same thing as the first one. Thank you Patty for bringing that to my attention! And, we're going with Country Singers for this litter. Thanks Mark! Anyway, my notes say, PINTO! White on his nose and forehead. Tail is 2/3 white.
She's more brown now with a small white tip on her tail. All four feet are white and sorta' semetrical I think. She too has a white collar but not as full as sisters.
The other pinto boy. Kinda' neat markings on all three pintos. He does have a tiny white spot on his foreward but not as much white as his spotted bro. Sorry you didn't get much of a chance at life. Someone needed you elsewhere. Precious little man.
This baby girl is all black. That's all I wrote in my notes. I'll have to check out tummies and toes. We've wanted pintos for a long time. My pinto girl, Suji, never had any I don't think. Tsuki Moon did but that was so long ago! I think Reba is the biggerst right now. She plows through to the chow line!
Maybe that's why I didn't write much about #5. I didn't have time. # 5 & # 6 came pretty close together. My notes on this guy say, Black, all black, hardly any white. So sad but we lost this guy too.
Pinto! Not as much white as the boys. At least not on her back. She's the one her mother pooped out and didn't bother to get up. She looks back at me and plops her out.
Black. But starting to look more brown at one week. Her front right ankle has a sock and she has white toes on the other front.
I'll do my homework and try to keep fresh pictures here. Thanks to Jessie and Barb I have a new cameral that works great!'' Remember you can right click on any of the photos and save them to your computer.
I'm still trying to adjust the picture size. I crop and shrink every picture before it goes on the site. I've been loading pictures on here for over 20 years and I'm just waiting for the site builder company to shut it down or start limiting my space.
Sorry to report we lost two of the puppies. The pinto boy with the darker face went to Rainbow's Bridge yesterday and the little brown guy about an hour ago. They call it Failure to Thrive or Fading Puppy or Kitten Syndrome. Unfortunately I've seen it before but mostly in my Persian kittens. I've tried everything. Even when you think they're getting better you find them dead.
Here's a an article that will explain more. http://blueknightlabs.com/2017/01/23/fading-puppy-or-failure-to-thrive-syndrome/
Now we're down to 5 girls and 1 boy. Had great homes for 3 boys. I'm very sorry you guys. You do still have options. See, no matter how careful and caring, you just never know. Kim and Troy had me put them down for a boy, possibly a girl...I think the rest of these guys are going to be fine. God help us!
Ahmee is turning out to be a pretty good mama.
Country Singer nick- names. All I can think of is Garth, Reba and Dolly. We need three more female artists. I like Alan Jackson but my friend named her parakeet Al. And that's all I have to say about that. hehehe
It's so depressing but I guess if they're going to be unhealthy it's better to find out now and not 6 months from now. Okay, moving on!
Mufasa/Mufasa's daddy suggested we go with Country Singers for this gang. Great idea! Thanks Mark!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!
Nicknames! You can name your puppy whatever you'd like but while they're here I'd rather have silly nicknames than #1, #2, #3.. .Also, in our chat group, and when sending me photos, it's a lot easier, for me especially, if you use our nickname/real name when referring to our babies. I have 37 litter files. I think that's what we're up to. 230+ puppies after 22 + years.
#4 Baby Boy - Went to Rainbow's Bridge.
#6 Baby Boy - Went to Rainbow's Bridge.
#9 Baby Girl - Went to Rainbow's Bridge.
Hey Keri, you were right. There are some pink noses amoung us. Can you see those little tiny black dots on Garth's nose? Those dots keep getting bigger and more show up until the pad on the nose is all black. The fur around his nose may stay white. Probably come in more white. They say what's white stays white and what's black stays black but most everything else lightens. I'd say there are a zillion examples on my site but these guys are not related and this is the first litter so we just don't know. BUT, that pad on their noses will eventually be all black. Right Keri? :) I was going to keep the puppy that Scott and Keri got. I asked the Lord for a sign to help me decide. Ruppert/Romo's nose was still spotty. I let him go with Keri. Yesterday she asked if their noses were going to get black and I told her. SOME NERVE! Cuz look what I passed on!
Still rubbin' it in ! hehehe
That's Patsy Pinto :) above
If I label somebody incorrectly or spell something wrong please lemme' know. Just cuz I'm confused a lot of the time.....
Can you see how much bigger Reba is? She's a tank!! Guess I can quit worrying about their mom's milk being fit to drink. When you lose a couple of precious babies it makes ya kinda' paranoid.
This is their mama at this age.
Thinkin' Emmylou is going to look just like her mama! Loretta too?
The one above is Ahmee too. Funny. They're soooooo cool !!!
And here's their mother taking herself for a walk. Who needs humans?!?!?!/
Patsy laying on her mama's arm. So CUTE!!!
Nicknamed; COUNTRY SINGERS!
This handsome man is also headin' down to Bear country! He hit the JACKPOT ! His new friends include; Branden, Kaylie, Annette, Jaxon and their big people Nick and Danielle. Winning combination!!!
GARTH/KATO!
This baby girl is going to live with Brett and Janeane. They used to be owned by Peach/Alex out of our Jelly Bean litter. Sadly he went to Rainbow's Bridge at the age of 12. Their humans are all off at college so it's time for a new baby!!! PATSY/EMIKO!
Just so happens new Daddy's mama is a Loretta too! We're movin' to Nebraska! Don't have the particulars yet but pretty sure the Lord brought these two together.
EmmyLou went with her brother Garth!
PERFECT!!! I LOVE when that happens and so far so good!!! EMMYLOU/
