Domo Arigato n' Shiyoko's FIRST LITTER!
Last Update;
Sept. 21, 2020
BABIES DUE NOVEMBER 9, 2018
< Daddy Domo Arigato - "Ari" at 6 months.
"Ari" is almost 8 months old now and "Yo" will be 2 in a couple months.
So exciting!! We've been waiting soooooooooo long!
God willing, we'll have puppy pictures below in about 63 days!!!
She's always so happy! I can kinda' see a tummy starting!
90% sure
Now it's Oct. 17th and we have 23 days to go!!
100% sure
Below,
Oct. 23rd,
17 days to go!!
She's slightly scatter brained. Her hunting ability is improving somewhat. She would leap off the ground, all four feet high in the air. Instead of coming down, on her prey, with her front feet, she'd land on the back ones first. Pretty ridiculous. She did manage to catch a couple voles on our walks last winter. Disgusting little creatures!
Below, Nov. 5th,
4 days to go!!
The suspense is killing me!!! She's been doing a little nesting in the whelping cage but I think she's going to make us wait. That's okay, the longer they cook the better!
BABIES BORN NOVEMBER 7, 2018
Two days early!!! Babies born Nov. 7, 2018!!!
I think that was the easiest delivery I've EVER experienced. I'm amazed with YoYo! So far so good anyway!!! I won't rest easy until they're 2 weeks old. I've had mama's lay and squish babies up to 13 days. Don't worry, I check CONSTANTLY!!! But, WAY TO GO YoYo and Ari!!! NINE!!!
6:32 a.m. 1st Born - Boy - Nickname, Moses since he lead the gang into this world. He entered the world head first and his sac was already off. Scared the crap outta' me. He's a brown and white pinto with lots of white. His tail is half white from the tip and all four legs are totally white. And, he's got a big white spot on his rump. White nose too. All the white noses will turn black. The pad part. He's also got a really cool white collar all around his neck.
Biblical Nicknames cuz I've been blessed!!!
We've waited soooooooo long!!! Almost 3 years! January 2016 was our last litter! No wonder I'm crabby all the time. hehehe
7:07 a.m. 2nd Born - Boy - Nickname, Abraham - Abe. He seemed a little darker than Moses but also has a ton of white. White legs and 1/2 tail. Also white on his neck.
7:32 a.m. 3rd Born - Girl - Nickname, Eve. First born girl. She looks like her brothers. Less white. Not as much white on her tail and her white collar is thinner. Keep in mind I was a busy girl and things could change. Yo was poppin' um' out every half hour and I could barely keep up. :)
8:17 a.m. 4th Born - Girl - Nickname, Jezebel - Jezzy. She has the least amount of white on her back and neck. A couple of them have little white spots strategically placed. I think she's the lightest and may look like mama. Sam said Yo was born dark too.
8:43 a.m. 5th Born - Girl - Nickname, M. Magdalene - Maggie. Same as siblings. I thought we would finally get away from all the solid dark babies. So what do we get? Nine spotted dittos. hehe They are all kinda' pintos with random spots here and there.
8:55 a.m. 6th Born - Boy - Nickname, Jonah. He is really full of white. The most of all. He's also the longest and most thin.
9:40 a.m. 7th Born - Girl - Nickname, Sarah. Big girl who came out backwards. Gave me a scare too. I'll have to check her out a little better when things settle down a little.
10:45 a.m. 8th Born - Girl - Nickname, Ruth. She's got a thick white collar on one side of her neck. And, a white spot on her rump.
11:51 a.m. 9th Born - Girl - Nickname, Miriam. She's got a white "Nike" looking mark on the back of her neck. Again, I was runnin' outta' steam and kinda' gave up. More later. Now, for pictures!
Mama, never stops smilin'. And that's Moses.
Then, it got outta' hand. hehe
They all like to complain. That much I know. I'll have who's who figured out in a couple days. I think I'm already driving their mother nuts going in there all the time. YoYo is probably learning how to count to NINE.
I was expecting 4-5 pups. Still trying to figure out where she kept all of them. She wasn't that big. They're all healthy and cruisin' and eating like little pigs.
I'll start sloppin' the little hogs at about 10-14 days. Don't want um' wearing out Ma. She's been eating "Purina Puppy Chow" through her whole pregnancy and we'll keep that up. I think the nursing is harder on um' than the pregnancy.
I'll get a new battery for the camera and keep the photos comin'. Congratulations everybody!!!
^ Ruth, scroll way down to see all the babies.
11/08/2018 A day old today. Their mother isn't thrilled with me handling them.
She politely nudges me away.
Abraham - Abe has the big white patch on the top right side of his neck and Ruth's is on the left. Abe also has two white dots on his lower back. You can see one in the picture to the left. :)
I think Jonah has the darkest coat but also the most white.
Blurry one there of Abe but I wanted you to see all the white on that back leg. >
If you find a labeling error, or typo, please lemme' know.
< Well, that white spot on Miriam looked like the "Nike" logo when she was still wet.
The photo below shows that I haven't brushed my hair in a couple days.
Moses is the lightest. So far.
Their noses will turn black but the area around the nose will stay white. All the pink will go away.
I don't know faces yet. They're usually buried in their mother's tummy.
These two pictures should help a little in the identification process. They show only the six girls. No boys allowed!
< Five girls in that one.
Moses has the lightest colored coat at this point.
I wanna' get um' all on the baby scale in the next couple days.
Their mother at this age.
This is YoYo too. Getting lighter and lighter.
I should be cherishing this time but I can't wait until they start cruisin'.
11/09/2018 FINALLY got some sleep. I'm afraid to look back and see how badly I messed up this web page. I'll go back and make sure I have everybody labeled correctly. (To the best of my ability.) :)
YoYo is being a great mama. She's actually making me a little nervous cuz she doesn't wanna' go outside. She's been out once since whelping.
First thing I did, after dragging my rear outta' bed, not counting the usual stuff, was take a bunch of pictures. It's snowing and wonderfully bright in the puppy room.
Took a couple dozen. Hook up to the computer and the camera shows 2 pictures. I ORDERED THE NEW BATTERY. It'll be here in a week. Had the darn thing recharging the whole time I slept.
Took a couple dozen. ADORABLE!!! Hook up to the computer and the camera shows 2 pictures. ORDERED THE NEW BATTERY. It'll be here in a week. Had the darn thing recharging the whole time I slept too.
Did I say 2 pictures? Yah well, one didn't turn out. Not worth posting. A little salt in the wound.
But, look at the change that's taken place in just a couple days. It's really miraculous. That's Moses in the forefront. He's nice.
Battery comin'. I'll put the camera back on recharge and try again in a couple hours.
Their little noses are already starting to turn black. It comes in with little black dots that eventually all blend together. You can see the little dots.
I GIVE UP!!! I don't know if I have them labeled correctly. This is melting my brain. I think I'll put it away for now. Sumthin' ain't right and I can't figure it out. I'll win in the end! I know one thing, from now on I'm bringing paper and pencil in with the camera!!!
< I gotta' go in and see >
who's nose that is!
11/10/2018 Happy Birthday to little brother John!
Let's just do some mob shots today!
< Now Jonah's goin' for it !
One of the girls takin' the dive! >
Looks like Jonah has already caught up.
11/11/2018 Four days old.
Makin' nasty liver, brown rice, flax seed, egg cookies for the big kids.
11/12/2018 Five days old.
Everybody is doing very well. Growing every minute! Couldn't ask for a better mama! GREAT JOB YOYO!!!
I brought paper and pen in with me this time. Seems to help. Still a challenge to get the same number of shots of everybody. I try not to play favorites. :)
Some people just wiggle more than others and their photos turn out blurry. They still can't hear or see. Any day now.
Their mother still doesn't like me messin' with um' but I did manage to put the boys on the scale. Abe is actually a tad heavier than Moses. Both right at a pound and a half.
Jonah was just over a pound and a quarter and all the girls are somewhere in between I'm guessing. Little TUBS!
I think Ruth has the most white on her face. Of the girls.
They all keep getting lighter, in color, and I think Jezebel is the lightest. Of the girls. Moses is the lightest colored boy.
I'm still not sure I have them all labeled correctly. I can now tell them apart, and I know who's who, but I need to see their markings to do so.
11/15/2018 Eight days old!
My little miracles are all doing well. So is their mother. She seems a little thin but I'll start "Purina Puppy Chow" slop this weekend. I think the earliest I've tried to feed is nine days. They won't want much but every little bit helps mama.
New Name = Myau pronounced "My-you"
New Name = Bo keeps telling me and I keep forgetting to write it down. :)
