The Bible Gang
I just weighed the kids.  They are 25 days old today, Dec. 2nd, 2018.  Hard to believe they went from 1 pound to almost 5 in 3 1/2 weeks!
Moses                  4.25 lbs.
Abraham               4.5 lbs.
Jonah                    3.9 lbs.
Eve                       3.75 lbs.
Ruth                      3.9 lbs.
Jezebel                  4.0 lbs.
M. Magdelene       4.75 lbs.
Sarah                    4.0 lbs.
Miriam                   4.0 lbs.

Well, the new vet's message machine said she'd be out of the office until the 3rd.  I didn't wanna' bug her on her first day back so I'll call today.
I gave the last of my de-wormer to a friend of mine who found some tiny kittens in their burn pile.  We don't know how they got there.  I suspect their mother thought it was a warm spot?

Above, Mama YoYo and her siblings.  Yo is on the right.  Wanted you to see how dark she was and how light she is now.  Jezzy might do this.  Not sure about the others yet.
< Mama at about the same age her kids are now.  I'm thinkin' the kids won't end up as light as she is.  Dunno'
Maggie
Below is Mama a little older and the picture below that she's about a year old.
Miriam is the most standoffish right now.  Pretty sure "standoffish" is in the first line of the standard so fear not.  hehe
Maybe I should have nicknamed these guys after cookware.  They spend so much time in the pans.  :)
Okay, I figured out why I was having so much trouble telling the girls apart.  When I was elaborating on the notes I took during their birth I put down that Maggie's while collar was "a thin line..."  When, in reality, it was Jezzy who has the thin white line.  It's been causing me grief.  Tonight I was thinking, what in the world?  Did somebody come in here and change all your white collars?  I may just be losing my mind.  Just to cause myself more stress I lined up the girls so I could see all their backs at once.  Well, you can just imagine how that went... Jezzy kept leaving and Ruth kept climbing on everybody so I couldn't see their backs.

From certain angles, like the shot above, both Maggie and Jezzy's collars look like thin lines.

Plus, at the time of their birth, the white spot on Miriam's neck reminded me of the Nike logo.  If you look at the picture above, Sarah has almost the identical mark only backwards.  What I didn't notice then was that Sarah's spot continues down her neck and it looks like Jezzy's.

Their markings look so obvious here but when their heads and/or necks are turned the collars get distorted.  I think I've got it now.  Plus I'm getting more familiar with their faces

Bo and Chelsea just left.  They helped with photos.  Now you'll be able to see why I'm having so much trouble with identification.
Bo and Chelsea have narrowed their pick down.  Chelsea wants Ruth and Bo wants Moses.  They'll let us know in a couple days.

We don't know who yet but there are 2 boys and 2 girls still available!
Four weeks old yesterday.  I think Miriam passed up Maggie on the scale.  Seems like Jezzy got a lot bigger too.  I'll weigh um' again before I de-worm um'.
Sarah
Sarah
Moses seems pretty happy with himself.  He's likes cruisin' around checkin' stuff out. He'll stop over and say hi and then head for HIS spot in the back of the cage.  He's been seen, on more than one occasion, wading through the masses to get to that back corner.  He's a tank!
Abraham, on the other hand, usually climbs up in my lap.  The new thing, he flips over on his back, most likely for tummy rubbin's. Then he'll gently chew on me or take a nap.  Gently, for now anyway.
Miriam is out of that funk she was in.  She either sits right new to me and stares at me or she'll put her paw on my leg.  Really cute!
I really haven't gotten to know Jonah much yet.  Pretty easy goin' guy I'd say.  I sit on the floor by the outside door cuz that's where they all sleep and it's usually clean and dry.   Usually, being the operative word. I think I've changed my socks three times today. Anyway, Jonah always goes behind me and sleeps.  Typical Akita weather strip.
Maggie doesn't stop by much.  I think she has her own agenda too.  This morning Ruth and Sarah were hanging on me.  They all love tummy rubbin's and teething on what- ever's near.
Pete used to let um' chew on his toes.  Don't know how he could stand that.  I hide my feet.  You haven't lived until somebody takes a bite out of one of your "love handles".  Another soft spot not intended for chewing.  Thankfully I've lost a bunch weight...
Mama Yo can't stand it when the pups are playing/fighting with each other.  She jumps right in and I think she's a little rough.  Jezzy growls at her and then does that sassy maneuver turning her back and side at her like a tough guy.  So funny.  How do they know that stuff at 4 weeks?  Like they'll grab a finger and shake it really hard.  Killing the prey? They all do it.  But I think I nicknamed Jezzy correctly.  She should be out killing prophets in no time :)
I'll fill in these spaces with more observations.  They're still pretty little.  I opened the door to the hallway while their mother was outside.  A couple of the girls stood in the door way.  Abe strolled in a step or two.  Moses went in a little ways and pooped.  Guess that's HIS hallway.  :)
Thanks again Bo and Chelsea for helping with the pups today.

Jaushua has chosen Maggie.
Scott and his gang are comin' to visit tomorrow.  I told them to wear poopables.
< I can tell that's Eve cuz her head's wet.  Somebody must have shoved her into the water dish.

I took their mom out to her kennel for some well deserved R n' R.  I propped the screen door open to see who would venture out.
Maggie kinda' fell out but then she walked right over to me.

After a couple minutes Abe came out.  Walked right past me checkin' out the snow.  Not really a fair test.  1/2 the gang were inside sleeping.

Now I've got the hallway door open.  They're all sleeping but we'll see who the brave ones are in an hour or two.  I know a couple three of um' I've had to haul back into the puppy room who escaped into the hallway.
I can't leave the hall door open when mama is in cuz Suji lives in here and she can't always be trusted.  I've got double puppy gates so she can't get near the pups.  Don't trust her not to crash the gates to get at YoYo though.  Naughty girl.

Time to bake some cookies.  We'll see how those go over.  They were too young for the last batch.

Okay, we're trying the big outdoors!  For real this time.
That first step is a BIG ONE!
Abe was the first.  He'll pretty much follow me anywhere.  Then Maggie.  I think she's actually the most brave.

We got to play outside again today!  Temp in the 40's.
I'm too pooped to label.  Maybe later.
12/22/18 6 1/2 weeks
One of the neighborhood cows was butchered.  That's a hip to hock bone and very popular I might add.  :)
We also love eggs & ham.
These are Daddy Domo Arigato at 11 months.
He's BIG and Sweet and I love him with all my heart!
< That WAS my glove!
Below, we're all learning a ton of stuff.

Maggie/Yukiko
Update; Maggie's new name is Yukiko.  Means child of snow/child of happiness.
Also, kids have been de-wormed twice now and no sign of worms what so ever.  Very few litters are worm free.  I'm tickled and amazed.  Should still take a poopy sample to their first vet trip.  Just to be sure.  I'll re-de-worm again in a couple weeks if anybody is still here.
