Welcome to Ahmee n' Ari Two's Next New Family!
Babies BORN October 19, 2022
Last update;
Dec. 13, 2022
This little furry person will be going to live with Coco/Sachi from our Designers Litter. Pictures of Sachi below! Suzanne and son Henry aren't sure if they want a boy or a girl. Mom thinks Henry may want a boy. We'll see!!!
Sadly only one or two more Akita litters. I'm getting old and my awesome Akitas are getting to be too much for me to handle. We'll see how it goes.
These are two pups from Ahmee. The big girl is Dolly/Aspen from Ahmee and Ari I's first litter. The little guy is Luke/Rocky from Ahmee and Ari II's first litter. Well, it's Ahmee's second litter and Ari II's first.
This is Bo/Exodus and one of his MANY new friends. He's also out of Ahmee and Ari II's last litter.
< That's their sister Daisy/Lily. Nosy or what? This was in Madison at the puppy pick up spot. Not shy, that one. Below, that's Daisy/Lily also.
The next litter will probably be a lot like these guys. Really nice babies.
Here's Coco/Sachi from our "Designers" litter. She's a Longcoat. She looks bored waiting for her new friend
^ Luke/Rocky with some of his new friends! Funny looking Akitas!
^ Daisy/Lily headin' home!
This little gal is moving to Sun Prairie, Wi. with Phillip and his girls. Their first Akita! They came to visit and Ari jumped on Phil and got him all dirty. Hopefully all you guys will train your Akitas better than I train mine. :)
Today is 10/01/2022 and we have two weeks to go. Took these this morning of Mommy and Daddy.
To the right, we have, Daddy. He's a year and a half old now. He'll be two on March 6th. Still a puppy. A GIANT puppy! He's got a lotta' filling out to do and he's just starting to blow his coat for the second time. He got nervous cuz I was TRYING to take his picture so he decided to comfort himself by being obnoxious to his mama. He's really a good boy! Except maybe when he jumped on Phil and left big ol' grubby foot prints on his chest. Sorry Phil. hehehe
^ Ari Two and his mama Shiyoko, "YoYo".
Below is fatso! Pups are probably about the size of your fist right now. They'll be just about a pound when they're born. 14 more days!!! or so..
Here's where I'll put;
BABIES BORN!!!
Well, that was a trying few days. I'm terribly sorry, especially to my new friends out in Vegas. Ahmee only produced three babies and the third little guy did not survive. The first little angel was born at 12:20 p.m. on the 19th of October. Just over 6 1/2 hours later the second puppy came. She is actually a little miracle. Born at 7:05 p.m. Only once, maybe twice, have I had babies come that far apart and survive. She arrived in this world tail end first too. I was sure she had perished. But she sparked new hope! I was praying for three little girls! A second miracle wasn't to come I'm afraid. A beautiful little pinto boy was born at 4:45 a.m. the morning of the 20th. I spent a good 1/2 hour trying to resuscitate him to no avail. I pretty much knew it was hopeless. So, this will be the last time we breed Ahmee. She just isn't made for the job. She's being a very good mama now but getting to this point was too stressful for everybody. Mostly me. Ahmee is no worse for the wear.
Maybe I jinxed this litter by prematurely numbering... But she was soooo fat!!!
BOY born at 12:20 p.m. He's very dark. About 1/4 of his tail is white. He has a white knee sock on his front left and an anklet of white on his right front foot. His two back feet are white. His chin and underside have a long white stripe. I think his nose is pink right now too. Course that will turn black in a few weeks. He's already showing signs of being a patient and calm young man as he got put in the basket, alone, while we were busy with mama and we barely heard a peep.
GIRL born at 7:05 p.m. She's lighter than her brother and actually looked brindle when she was all wet. She's a pretty shade of brown right now but both kids will lighten. She was born and the first thing I saw was her tail. That's not the greatest sign especially after a 6 1/2 hour wait. She has matching knee socks in the front and a tiny white tip on her tail.
BOY born at 4:45 a.m. He was a handsome black and white pinto. Unfortunately he didn't survive the long wait.
Oh, our nicknames will be Bonnie and Clyde. I thought it fitting.
Oops, that's my hair in the picture. >
These guys will look like little rats for a week at least.
Terrible photo but can be used to compare as they grow. Their head sizes compared to my hand.
Hey Henry, thanks for the "Simpson's" for nicknames. I wanna' save them for a larger litter. I will use um' though. Great idea! Thanks again.
10/25/22 Babies will be a week old tomorrow. That's hard to believe. The older ya get the faster it goes I guess. :)
Clyde takes everything in stride. I don't think I've heard him complain. Bonnie complains enough for the two of them.
Henry picked Clyde. His new name issss, ready? Drum roll ! Tsukinowaguma, "Kino" for short. That's a Japanese Black Bear. PERFECT!!
So, Bonnie is headin' to Sun Prairie! Her new name is pretty cool too! Ahsoka. From "Star Wars"! They can call her Socks or Soggy Socks! hehehe Their first Akita. Soon they'll know what I mean.
10/26/22 Babies are one week old. Clyde figured out how to complain and does a fine job at it. Their growth is amazing. Compare that picture with Clyde's head in my hand to the one I just took. Soon they'll be gaining 10 pounds a month. They've got a good head start!
Next week I'll start de-worming them. At two weeks and every two weeks until they leave.
Also next week I'll probably start feeding them soggy mashed puppy chow. No rush with these two. Maybe I'll wait until week three???
Chubby sisters make the best pillows!!!
That photo from last week his head covered like two fingers. Now look!!!
You guys can right click on any of these pictures and save them on your computer. Send to friends and relatives or whatever. Maybe wait until after baby rat stage has past. They'll be the cutest things ya ever saw in about two weeks. Well, baby goats are pretty adorable. They're a close second. hehehe
Ya know, Pete, the X, built that big cage that they're in. The paint on the floor lasted almost 20 years! Dozens of litters. I go to Menards and tell them what I need. Paid like $18 for a pint.
I think it's gone through two, maybe three litters, two years?!?! It's already all chipping off. Course, maybe I should have sanded it??? :) Never easy is it?
More baby pix soon! Stay tuned.
10/29/22 Babies are ten days old and fat n' sassy!
Eyes will open any day now.
Did I call it right or what? Mr. Laid Back!!!
10/31/22 Babies are twelve days old today! I meant to have these new photos up yesterday but I'm having some computer issues and I ran outta' patience yesterday.
< Look who climbed outta' the cage.
Actually, boy boy did it first the other day. Both times their mama was resting just outside the door. They still can't see but apparently they can smell. So, time to put the first board across the door.
I'll have to put the second board up next week. Just to keep them safe for a couple weeks. Then both boards will come off and they'll be able to roam the puppy room.
< When you can't find your brother to use as a pillow, Mom's feet are the next best thing! She needs to lay offa' the chow line!
Both have nice heads and ear sets. Couple of show quality babies!
I can finally relax a little. They're past the mama laying on and squishing age. Whew!
I'll weigh them and de-worm them on Wednesday. They'll be two weeks old. I may see how they take to puppy slop too.
11/03/22 Babies are fifteen days old today! Eyes are just starting to open. I weighed them and de-wormed them yesterday. Bonnie weighed almost 3 1/2 pounds and Clyde was a little over 3 pounds.
I think baby boy will catch up as soon as I start feeding them. Bonnie is a tad pushier...
< That pink spot on her nose will turn black in the next couple weeks.
Below, Soggy has a little de-wormer on her nose.
11/08/22 Babies are three weeks old!! So sorry, I've been having computer problems. I have a bunch of pictures to get on here. Thanks for your patience!
We're eating puppy slop now!
Soggy Socks here has puppy slop all over her nose. That little white spot will eventually turn black. It starts with little black dots that get bigger and fill in.
Starting to cruise around now. Not real coordinated yet.
Kino is still more interested in Mama. I make a kissy noise when I give them their slop. So, for a while, they'll come when you make that noise.
I always make way too much slop cuz Mama gets the left overs. She doesn't like dry Puppy Chow but mush it with hot water...
Pretty soon I'll have to cover the floor with newspaper and their perfectly white paws will become gray. With only two I can hold off for a while.
If you're not crate training; put a sheet or two of newspaper right by the door they'll use to go out. When they start snooping around the paper grab um' and take um' out. If you take the pup to where you want them to go they'll use that spot forever more. They usually like to go as far away from the house as they can.
11/11/22 Babies are twenty three days old. They're starting to be little people now. Becoming aware of their surroundings. They're both kinda' lazy. I think that's cuz of the size of the litter.
Still having computer problems. What a pain!!! The Geek is coming on Monday. Hopefully! Keep getting what they call blue screen. Been working with computers since the seventies. Father was a programmer. On-line since the eighties. First time for everything I suppose. Grrrrrr!!!
So I've got a little puppy slop on my forehead. What's it to you? :)
Soggy Sock's new family are coming to visit tomorrow!
11/29/22 Babies will be SIX WEEKS OLD tomorrow! Sorry we've been gone for so long. The Geek who repairs my computer is a hunter... Only charged me $150 though. Looking on the bright side. Sorta'. The kids are getting big and turning into little vampire piranha's, as expected. They LOVE playing on the deck and I can't seem to keep Clyde/Kino in the house. They're eating dry kibble now and yes Suzanne, still on Purina Puppy Chow. :) They're also drinking water. I still give them puppy slop once a day but I'll quit that soon. Tomorrow they'll get their third de-worming.
< Mama patiently waiting for the left overs. Unfortunately for her, there hasn't been much lately.
Above, Mama stuck her big head in the picture. She hates when the pups are getting HER attention!
Sorry some of these are kinda' dark. Sometimes the flash doesn't go off, for some reason.
She likes her fat little tummy on the cool floor.
He found his mom's nasty ol' butcher bone. Nummy!!!
Now he's into Mom's food!
< She doesn't wanna' feed him so he's burrowing under!
Let's see if I can get the short video of Soggy Socks chowing rather aggressively.
I can't find it. It's on the program I used to get the photos offa' the Camera. My program wouldn't re-load, WITH the DVD, so I punted. It was a pop-up that kept popping up sooo... You think that thing would pop up now? Aww, hell no! I'll find it! I'll just wait and finish this first so you guys can see your babies. AGAIN, sorry for the picture-less couple weeks. Two and a half :(
We LOVE the water pan!!! >
< Short video showing Bonnie/Ahsoka bein' serious about lunch!
