05/20/24 Babies were 3 weeks old yesterday! Does she look like a baby polar bear or what?

And, obviously this is the variety of Purina Puppy Chow that I don't like so much. I went to Menards and it was the only one they had. Try to get the kind without the orange chunks of kibble.

Beautiful head and ear set under all that gunk! :)

They're up on all fours now. Starting to get the hang of it.

Why is it that the food always tastes better on the far side of the pan?

I'll de-worm them for the second time at 4 weeks.

I broke down and put the air conditioner in the window. The complaining ended almost simultaneously.

05/25/24 Babies will be 4 weeks old tomorrow! Time is just flying! Harry/Phoenix's new grandma came to visit today with her niece and nephew. That was fun! The kids were cruisin' around much better than last weekend. Tomorrow I'll de-worm them for the second time.

Hermi's new mama came up with a really cute name! "Shiver". Apparently named after a little polar bear in one of the "Barbie" movies. I'm a little outta' touch since I didn't know there were any Barbie movies but Paige sent a picture. PERFECT!

Weighed the boys today. Ron was almost 7 lbs.

05/30/24 Babies are 32 days old today. That's a tad over 4 1/2 weeks. They're eating dry Purina Puppy Chow but I've still been giving them soggy puppy chow twice a day. Mom is still with them most days and every night so they're all still nursing. Mom is getting sick of it though and they mostly have to stand to eat.

< The first to go out on the deck.

We played with the POMS today!!! The orange guy is Moose. He'll be 2 next week. He weighs 13 lbs. The fluffy brown girl is Malolatka, "Malo", she was 2 in April and weighs 3 lbs. Ron is probably almost 8-9 lbs. The other two close behind.

Malo, the tiny POM, is afraid to get too close. The Akita pups can be too rough but they're not quite at that point yet.

The boards are offa' the big cage now so they're free to roam the puppy room. The flies aren't too bad yet so the outside door is open and they're free to explore the deck too. So far Ron is the only guy braving the deck. I don't force anybody to do anything. They've had two de-wormings now and their AKC registration papers are here. Had a couple great visits with Phoenix' new grandmaw. Kitty, hope you got home safe and sound. HUGS to all !!!

06/03/24 Babies were 5 weeks old yesterday!!! I think today is the last day they're getting their soggy puppy food. Dunno', maybe just once a day for a while. Their mother ends up eating most of it. They're all drinking water and eating dry stuff now. They're even enjoying a few treats as you'll see in some of the following pictures.

Shiver's still got the stain from when the puppy chow got in her eye. It will wear off eventually. That's that red dye I was talking about in the one variety of Purina Puppy Chow. Try to get the kind with only brown and tan kibble. Not the one with orange. Won't hurt um' to switch around but I'd avoid anything with red dye if possible.

They're shovin' each other around cuz neither of um' wanna' go outside on the deck. Phoenix eventually come out and now runs around out there like he owns the place. Ron even goes out in the dark. He's not afraid of anything. Shiver is still a little hesitant. I brought her out and she ran right back in. She loves to follow me around though.

< Opened the gate so he could explore the front deck. I went to put his mom in the kennel and he was 1/2 way down the steps! That's a first!!! Brave guy!

So Ron took the hint and went into the hallway for a nappy.

< And that's what my kitchen counter looks like. We've got more cookies and treats than Wal-mart!!!

06/07/24 Babies will be six weeks old in two days. They're rip tearin' around and starting to play all star wrestling. On Sunday I'll de-worm them for the third time. Haven't seen any worms but just in case. I saw Shiver with one ear up today. Just adorable!!!

They all LOVE playing on the deck now. Even Shiver! She's coming out of her shell. They all still come to me when I make the kissy noise. I made the kissy noise every time I fed them. :)

I'M GOIN' TO NORTHERN ILLINOIS ON THE 22nd!!! I have a class reunion in Rockton around noon. Pups will be a day short of 8 weeks sooooo... Anybody wanna' meet me in Rockford or somewhere? Belvidere? The old Clock Tower?

We've got Ron pickin' on Shiver, Ron pickin' on Phoenix, Shiver pickin' on, I think that's Ron.... All Star Wrestling! When they're not eating, pooping or sleeping. They're starting the ankle biting good times too! Really sharp little teeth!!!

06/13/24 Babies are 6 1/2 weeks old now. They're really cool except they're starting the biting stuff. Mostly my hands and ankles and feet.

We went for a big adventure down in the yard today. It was a big hit. They all still come to me when I make kissy noises and call um'. Miraculously!

Never realized rippin' up mulch was so much fun! Just grass clippings but Phoenix grabs a bunch and shakes it 'til it's dead!

Then he trips over the wooden post and lays there. Meanwhile, Shiver and Ron are checkin' out the old Tonka truck with flowers in it. Sad little flowers that I bought too early and froze. Gotta' be tough around here to survive!

06/17/24 Babies were 7 weeks old yesterday. I have to bribe them with stuff so I can get them to hold still for pictures now. They all run toward me and it's impossible to get a shot. So, cookies and a fake cat did the trick.

06/24/24 Babies were 8 weeks old yesterday. Baby girl, Shiver's ears are up. The boys have a way to go yet.

< Looks so innocent. He actually is a pretty good boy. Wet feet and all.

Playin' with the POMS again. The orange guy is "Moose". He just turned 2 and he gets a little snappy with the pups. Within his rights. Look at Shiver in attack mode. And, Ron covering the rear. Pack behavior or what? They just wanna' play but that involves really sharp little teeth. Moose weighs 13 lbs. The pups are probably closer to 15+.

< Mr. wet feet, again, looking so innocent. Two seconds earlier he was chewing on her head. She turned two in April. I can't leave her alone with these guys now.
