Welcome to Page #3 of the "Beatles" Litter!
YoYo n' Ari's litter born 08/27/2020
Last Update;
Feb. 10, 2021
09/26/2020 Babies were 4 weeks old a couple days ago.
Yep, Ringo has a new name - Yogi :)
Everybody has a new name. I just can't remember what Tracy told me. oops
They're all drinking water and I just put dry puppy chow in there.
Doesn't get much cuter than this! I weighed them before I gave them their 2nd de-worming.
Pauly/Legend is still the tank @ 7.5 lbs. Then Yoko and she's @ almost 7 lbs. Geo./Hansuke and Ringo/Yogi are both almost 6.75 lbs.
I compared the other litters' weights at 4 weeks. One litter was between 3 and 4.25 lbs. Another were all around 5.5 lbs. I would think the litter size would be a factor but the 3 - 4.25 pounders were from a litter of 3. I went through several of the litters but most weren't weighed at 4 weeks. I'll have to start being more consistent with that. I weighed one litter @ 6 1/2 weeks and they were all around 9 lbs. So, don't worry about George & Ringo. :)
< He's hugging his mama. Soooooo cute!
09/30/2020 Babies will be 5 weeks tomorrow!
< Caught him in mid-shake.
10/02/2020 Babies were 5 weeks yesterday!
First try to get them outside. My brave little Yoko was the first. Then out came Ringo/Yogi.
Ringo/Yogi and my flip flop. I had to surrender it. My toes were in danger! Teeth are starting to get really sharp.
Soon their pretty white paws will be gray from the newspaper.
Next nice day we'll try going outside again. It starts getting hard cleaning the puppy room cuz they won't leave me alone. They stand on the paper that I'm TRYING to remove and yank and tug on my pant legs... So, kicking them outside is imperative :)
10/04/2020 Babies are 38 days old. And, starting to get naughty!!! I've got three new holes in my skin!
All Star Wrestling below. Tag teams? And then we went out on the big deck to play!!! George/Hansuke was the last to be coaxed out.
< See Yoko? She is the most brave and most sure of herself.
Won't be long and they will be charging out that door.
Can't remember which litter it was but these pups are smarter than you'd think. I had 2-3 puppies that were still here at 9-10 weeks I believe. They actually made up a game. Pups born in the warmer weather get a baby pool on the deck. I always prop open the storm door so they can go in and out as they please. And, if Mama isn't in I open the door to the hallway so they have the hall and they can see me here working from the end of the hall. Well, I was TRYING to work and all of a sudden I hear this crash into the storm door. Then I hear a stampede through the puppy room and down the hall until they crash into the puppy gate. Then they'd turn around and run back down the hall and back out on to the deck. Couple minutes later I hear another crash on the storm door and here they come again slamming into the puppy gate at the end of the hall. They were all wet so they couldn't stop on the wet linoleum. Then they took off again. I snuck out the front door to see what they were doing. They'd start in the pool, jump out and run to the door, which was a 90 degree angle into the puppy room. Couldn't quite make the turn so slam into the storm door, run full blast through the puppy room, down the hall and slide into the gate - slam. Turn around, run back out and jump in the pool. As soon as everybody got back in the pool, they did it again. And again and again. Apparently the game rules say ya gotta' wait for everybody to get back in the pool before you can start again. They stand in the pool and wait for the last guy to get back in then take off. It was a cool game!!! So funny, they were all playing the game and havin' a blast. hehehe They must have done it 6-8 times. That's smart!
10/07/2020 Babies will be SIX WEEKS old tomorrow!
They can see their mom and dad. >
I keep a small crate in the puppy room and this big one out on the deck.
I think it will help with crate training and/or shipping if they're used to what a crate is. The doors are removed.
Mom's outside so I let them into the hallway today. That's George/Hansuki watching my old girl, Suji, eatin' a cookie. He was the bravest today and was trying to get Suji's attention. That big cage is at the end of the hall so they can see me at my desk and Suji can't eat um'.
Bad shots but all of them made it to the back of the cage. They all sat there watching for the longest time. Sooo CUTE!
10/09/2020 Babies were SIX WEEKS old yesterday!
10/12/2020 Babies are 6 1/2 weeks old and they're little monsters!!!
Everybody is leaving this weekend. So sad! I'm sure going to miss them!
I bring Mama in at night so the babies can still nurse. The moms don't lay down for them at this age. I think she's had enough. :)
There they are in their room. Door is open to the deck but apparently only the flies are using it. I tried to sneak in but they heard me. One actually barked at me. hehe It's getting hard to take pictures cuz they all want to be near me. They all get up and run to me. They're so precious when they aren't being monsters!!!!
I put the plastic kitty on the floor so they would leave me alone allowing me to get some pictures. It didn't work for long.
Ears are starting to go up!
Friend of mine stopped by 3-4 days ago and then again today. She goes, "Holy cow! They've grown since the last time I was here!"
EVERYBODY says, "What kind of dog are they again?" Sheesh
10/15/2020 Babies are 7 weeks today!!!
Yogi bit me so hard I threw the camera. Had to re-program it a tad but it's still working!
I let them out on the front part of the deck. Where I've been storing bags of poopy papers. Haven't been able to get to the dump.
Three steps down to the earth.
Yoko/Kitty is named after Kitty Wells. Jon and Tracy are on their third Akita from us. They started with Pippin/Bubba and right now they have Beast/Bo. "Bocephus" which was Hank Williams Jr.'s nickname. Pretty cute!!!
Yogi's feet are all wet cuz he's been standing in the water dish. >
< Yogi dragging that HEAVY bag. Look how far he dragged it!
Cody, Yogi's new daddy, was just telling me what a wonderful dog Cutler/Kiyoshi was. (Their first Akita from us). Well, one outta' two ain't bad. :) Also, keep in mind you had first pick Cody. You can only blame yourself. hehehe!
< That bag is squished full of wet newspaper. It's gotta' weigh 15 lbs.? That 7 week old puppy dragged it like 5 feet!
I really need to get to the dump. Now they're exploring the far end of the deck.
Then I went out the front and called them.
Can't get me. I'm on the other side of the gate! hehe
Wasn't Yogi Bear always getting in trouble with the forest ranger?
< He's one of those guys who tells on himself when he thinks he's doing something naughty. Look at his ears. Up in the pix where he's smelling the garbage. Ears and tail down. hehe
