I let them play on the deck in the mornings and evenings when it cools off.  Most go right outside and poo.  But, some come back inside to pee.  :)  We won't mention any names.  hehehe

05/18/2022  Babies are SIX WEEKS old!  That's so sad.  Means I only have them for a couple more weeks.
:(  Course, by then, they'll be pooin' like baby buffalo and ripping the heck out of my really thin old lady skin with their nasty little sharp teeth.
^ Sister love!

Took them all, one atta' time, down into the yard.  We're just exploring a little bit.  Luke was the only one who didn't try to dive under the deck when a big truck went by.
<  I was trying to coax him over to the steps and he wouldn't have anything to do with it!
Once we got down there it wasn't so bad.

They got their third de-worming today.  I never did see any worms.  While mama dogs and cats may show no sign of worms, supposedly the worms lay dormant until nursing begins.  Then they wake up and get passed to puppies and kittens.  I do all my big dogs at the same time just in case.  I'll have the de-worming information for you to give to their new vets.
Then Bo's turn.   A couple of his pictures didn't turn out.  > He was on the move.  Until the big dump truck came over the pass.  Then Bo made a bee line for under the deck.  Back up on the deck we went.  They were all happy to be back.  Don't want any bad experiences.  Even though we were like six feet from where they live.  BIG NEW WORLD!
Cookies and treats are pretty much second nature now.  hehehe
<  I was talking to her and I think she was actually listening.  Looks like an intent face to me.  SO CUTE!!!
All those cookies and treats and he's chewing on the weather striping.   >
^  I had to duct tape the phone line so they wouldn't chew that.  Thanks to the idiot phone company repairman, that line runs from under the deck there, the full length of my house, on the INSIDE, because he insisted the problems were in MY wiring and not the phone company's.  Even AFTER I explained to him that visits from his co-workers are a semi - annual event which consist of some screwing around with their equipment, under my desk, and a temporary fix.  So, instead of having to pay a ton of money for him to locate a problem that was non-existent, in the middle of winter, I told him to just run a new line through the house cuz I had a flooring guy due and we'd just run the line under the new flooring.  Did I mention that was winter time?  Yah, I'm wondering where the flooring guy is too!!!  He shoulda' been here six months ago.  (Friend of the family.)  Great!   Oh, P.S. the phone problem was back approximately two weeks after the phone guy left.  Nobody listens to me!!!  :)

05/21/2022  Babies are 6 1/2 weeks old.  Yesterday we tried our first hard boiled eggs.  Fresh eggs from our friend and neighbor.  They were definitely a hit!!!
Forgot, we think Luke's new name is going to be Rocky.  The gang is coming to meet him tomorrow.
And, Bo's new name might be Exodus.  They wanna' meet him first before making it official.
Haven't heard what Daisy will be called yet.  Right now they all think their names are, "Now you be nice."
Mama's blowing her coat.  She's not suffering from pregnancy or nursing.  It's just time.  YoYo is shedding too and Daddy Ari just got done.  Wouldn't it be nice if they'd coordinate so we could get it over with???
Bo's literally got egg on his face.  >

We'll get some pictures tomorrow with Luke's little humans.  Guaranteed ADORABLE!
<  They call those "Flying Nun" ears on Luke.  If you're old enough to remember that t.v. show...  Or,  Google it, you'll see why.  :)  Just starting to go up.
05/24/2022  Babies will be 7 weeks old tomorrow!  Luke/Rocky's people came to visit this past weekend.  I think everybody had a blast!
That big girl isn't their mama.  That's Dolly/Aspen from out Country Singers litter.  That's Luke/Rocky's new big sister.  They have the same mama but different dads.             >
All the kids were really good!  Furry and non furry.  The pups didn't even bite too much I don't think.  Amazing!
The pups were worn out and slept for a couple hours after their new friends left.
We had scrambled eggs with cheese for breakfast today.  I think they liked that even better than the hard boiled eggs!
05/28/2022  Babies are 7 1/2 weeks old now.  I'm trying to give them all kinds of new stuff so they gain all the confidence necessary.  They're wearing me out!  Not as many pictures as when they were little?  They cooperated more when they were just little blobs!
I FINALLY got my riding mower back from the repair guy.  I got the foot tall plus lawn about 1/2 done.  If it wasn't raining right now...
Still too chicken to attempt the three steps leading to the ground.  Buttt, not for long
Luke/Rocky
This is part of the deck that they usually don't have access to.  Their area has fencing so they can't stick their heads through the slats.
Bucket n' sponge I just used to wash my car.
Daisy
Daisy
How long do you think that sponge is going to stay on that bucket?
See all the garbage bags?  Still haven't gotten to the dump.  My car and the lawn mower were in for repairs at the same time.  Lucky me!  I should go right now but it's raining.  It's only open on Tuesdays 1:00 - 5:00 and Saturdays 8:00 - 12:00.
4" gap between slats.  Another week and I'll have to get out a saw!  Hence, the fencing in the puppy area.
Naughty noses we call it.  Gotta' anticipate the trouble they can get into.
<  There goes the sponge.  If you guessed 2 minutes you'd be about right.
Bo/Exodus
Mr. Cool !  I'll call the pups in and the other two run to me.  This guys ponders his choices.
His nose is taking it's time but it's getting there.  Wonder if his ears will go up before his nose fills in?
*** IMPORTANT ***
DO NOT PLAY WITH OR PET EARS UNTIL THEY'RE UP!  They're made of cartilage and can be broken.  It's rare but...
<
be gentle with um'.
^  Lookin' down through the crack???  Who knows?
My sweat pants in his mouth!  >
<  What happened to the duct tape that was on that phone wire?
Musta' been the neighbor's cat for sure!
WINNER!
EIGHT MORE DAYS!!!
Spoon competition!
Funny, she has a lot of the same mannerisms as her father.   > There's one now!  Ari will wait patiently until I finish a pop knowing he'll get the empty bottle to destroy!  She may be daring me to take it, from the look on that face.
05/31/2022  Babies will be eight weeks old tomorrow!  Which reminds me; they'll get their 4th de-worming.  So far so good.  They're sooooo smart.  This morning I opened the door to the deck to take Ahmee for a walk.  The gate on the deck was open and all three of them spotted it instantly.  They all ran and escaped to the front deck.  No worries yet cuz they're all still afraid to go down the steps.  Then, all three proceeded to go to the farthest end of the deck and go poo.  They like to keep their messes as far away from where they live as possible.  Only problem, it's right in front of the main entrance to the house.
Daisy
I hate keeping them locked up in the puppy room but the deck gets too hot and the puppy room has air conditioning.  They complain when they get too warm.  Mostly the boys.  :)  So, we play on the deck in the mornings until like lunch and after the sun goes down in the evenings.  Today we had a new adventure!
Their father ATE the little kiddie pool last summer and the big kiddie pool is too big for them to get in and out of.  So, this will have to do.
I didn't force them in but I did put everybody's front legs in.  Then their mama come over and showed them what to do.
They're all sleeping in the puppy room now but in a couple hours I'll let them back out.  The water in the pool should be nice and warm by then.  See if they like that better???
Am I cute or what?!?!

The books say Akitas don't like the water.  I tend to disagree.  They love wading but not so much swimming.

Oh and I have news for you guys.  This is as close to a bath as they're going to get from me.  :)  That's your job.  Give um' a day or two to get used to their new homes and then throw um' in the tub with some baby shampoo or anything gentle.
Luke/Rocky
Funny how they sit and stare at the water.  Not like they haven't been playing in their water dish.  Pretty sure we have a picture of Bo sitting in it.
Bo/Exodus
^  I put Bo in like that.  The other two just jumped out faster.  275 feet deep, well water.  It's cold!
FIVE MORE DAYS!!!
06/03/2022  Babies are 8 1/2 weeks old. This is it for pictures from me.  We're takin' all three babies to Madison on Sunday morning.  We'll be at the usual meeting spot, the Days Inn at 6311 Rostad, in Windsor.  Offa' Hwy 19 that goes to Sun Prairie.  At noon on the 5th.  All Kitabears and their families are welcome. :)  Anyway, hopefully we'll get tons of photos from their new people and we'll add um' all here so we can watch um' grow!  .

Mama being a monster.  She's trying to get the kids to play but they're a bit afraid of her.  She's kinda' rough.  Still blowing her coat too.
My buddy brought up her grandkids.
SOCIALIZATION
<  There's Daddy!  Ain't he handsome!?!?!  I love him to pieces!  I think this is the first, or maybe second, time he's seen the pups.  He's known there's something weird in the puppy room but I don't know how much he knows.  Now he knows :)   He wanted to play I think.  He's 15 months old now.
Mom's at the bottom of the steps.
